With the news of Nick Saban's retirement, there will be roster turnover for Alabama football on the current roster and in future signing classes.

The first is 2024 five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams. The Saraland product announced he will be decommiting from the Crimson Tide.

According to a report by On3, Williams cited the departure of Saban and former Alabama wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins as major factors is his decision.

Williams has been committed to Alabama since October of 2022, but did not officially sign with the Crimson Tide during the early signing period in December. He has remained a top target of Auburn throughout his commitment to Alabama.

The in-state receiver from Saraland High School is the Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Football for the state of Alabama. Williams re-classified from the 2025 class and plans to sign on February 9, his birthday.

He hauled in 72 passes for 1324 yards and 19 touchdowns while taking 30 carries for 261 yards and seven touchdowns for the Class 6A runners up.

Re-recruiting Williams will be one of the first tasks for the Crimson Tide's new coach as he is heavily considering a major rival in the Auburn Tigers
