NCAA Announces 43 of 64 Teams, Host Sites

Way more valuable to be SEC team than college baseball automatic qualifier

FRISCO, Texas – With just a few hours to go before the official release of the NCAA regional brackets, college baseball fans at least know where their teams may go and a list of 43 of the 64 teams who are already officially in the field.

As noted previously, even though it was never in question, Arkansas will host a regional in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks took a year away from hosting after the 2021 season was cut short in the Fayetteville super regional to head to Stillwater, Oklahoma last season where Arkansas took down the No. 1 seed in that regional, Oklahoma State, in what was a wild, dramatic series of games that also featured a feisty Missouri State team.

Of the 30 automatic qualifiers, only Clemson, Vanderbilt and Indiana State will host a regional. As a result, we officially know 43 teams that are in the field, leaving only 21 additional at-large bids to be revealed when the brackets are announced at 11 a.m. today on ESPN 2. It is suspected that the SEC, which is hosting half the regional sites, will have at least 10 teams in the regionals. Tennessee and Texas A&M are expected to join those currently hosting, although the Aggies are technically a bubble team.
