It's Finally Time to Start Playing Football on Field, Not Talking

In this story:
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas will finally get on the practice field Friday morning. Just don't expect to hear a lot really early with practice starting on the outdoor fields at a 6:30 a.m. Even by the time you find out anything before lunch, don't expect anything really big.
The first day of practices will probably look like the last few years to what we in the media get to see. It'll probably be just individual drills and nothing really major to report. Nobody will know for sure exactly what anybody can do because pads are a few days away.
If there's an advantage to all of these summer practices, at least the first week of fall camp are spent getting in shape. That used to be the case decades ago and you'd see players that probably need some sort of attention. In those days, the players were just told to suck it up.
Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman knows he needs a big year, but he's not thinking an awful lot of about that these days. He's focused on getting the Hogs ready to play the games when they start keeping score and having a team that's not worn out by the time Halloween rolled around.
He felt like that was an issue last year. They lost their physical nature, but now he's trying to get it back. That was obvious when he fired the strength and conditioning coach the day after the last game at the end of the year. There were probably some other faces that entered the mysterious transfer portal world Pittman wasn't too worried about losing.
A lot of new faces will be on the field and blowing whistles. The coaching staff is almost totally different and new offensive coordinator Dan Enos will, obviously, be in the biggest spotlight. That's the nature of coaching the offense. They put the most points up.
Every position on the field has been analyzed from top to bottom and there's not a whole lot left to talk about until after a couple of days on the practice field. We may find out a little more in the press conference after practice in the morning, but probably not a lot of things Pittman or anybody else hasn't seen in the summer drills.
