FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The future of the 2026 class continues to show early promise for Arkansas, ranking eighth in the current 247sports rankings with two early commitments. Following Junior Day in Fayetteville on Saturday, there were offers expected to go out to a few of the visitors. One of them being Anthony Kennedy, Jr, a 6-6, 265 pounder projected to play edge rusher at the college level.

Kennedy, a sophomore at Little Rock Southwest received two early offers from Georgia and Missouri. But, has also reeled in offers from Auburn and UNLV. He was giving many top prospects more than they could handle in drills at the All-American Combine last weekend in San Antonio.

The Tigers were in on the Natural State product before the Razorbacks. Since Eli Drinkwitz arrived in Columbia, the former Arkansan made an effort to recruit his home state more and the work is beginning to pay off as he pulled in Pine Bluff receiver Courtney Crutchfield. The first school to offer isn't always the case in some instances but relationships built early on with out-of-state prospects is paying off.

The Hogs also offered sophomore Troy Pless, an offensive lineman from Shoemaker High School in Killeen, Texas. He is very impressed by new Razorbacks offensive line coach Eric Mateos.

"Coach Mateos is a very good offensive line coach," Pless said. "He does good at recruiting different classes and creating good relationships with recruits. I am considering going to Arkansas junior day on the 20th or 27th."

Pless is another one of those prototypical lineman Mateos and Pittman like to utilize. He stands at 6-6, 275 pounds and currently holds offers from fellow Power Four programs Baylor and Texas Tech. Other schools that have expressed interest in Pless are TCU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame.

The Razorbacks currently hold commitments from two other 2026 prospects in two-time Max Preps All-American Tay Lockett and Cartersville, Georgia offensive lineman Bear McWhorter.

Lockett was Arkansas' first commitment of the class, the California standout grew up in Arkansas before moving to Colorado. The 5-11, 175 pound defensive back holds 40 offers from the likes of Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Miami, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon and USC.

McWhorter committed to the Razorbacks over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee and Texas. He is known for planting a billboard in Fayetteville asking for Pittman to recruit him to Arkansas to play along the offensive line.
