First Razorbacks SEC Win Brings Plethora of SEC Honors

Awards have been few and far between, but Hogs' first Gainsville win lands four honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — With Arkansas entering last week at 2-6 and firmly in the bottom of the barrel of the SEC West, there was little reason for the SEC to hand out awards.

The Razorbacks doubled their SEC weekly honors in their 39-36 win over Florida alone with four different players being recognized. Before this week, only two Hogs got honors (Trajan Jeffcoat vs. Kent State and Landon Jackson vs. Alabama).

Defensive back Lorando "Snaxx" Johnson took home SEC Defensive Player of the Week, center Beaux Limmer won Offensive Lineman of the Week, Cam Little was recognized as Special Teams Player of the Week and defensive back Jaylon Braxton captured Freshman of the Week.

Johnson, the Baylor transfer, tied a season-high five total tackles and four solo tackles. He also had two tackles for loss, giving him three total in the past two games and recorded his first sack in a Razorback uniform by sacking Florida quarterback Graham Mertz in the third quarter.

Despite the offensive line's season-long struggles, Limmer was key in allowing the Razorback offense to score a season-high 32 points in conference play. Raheim "Rocket" Sanders' 103-yard performance was the first time a Hogs' rusher cracked 100 yards all season. Limmer only allowed one quarterback pressure all game.

Little continues to be one of the only consistent pieces on the team through nine games. Despite missing his first kick since the BYU game in Week 3, Cam Little hit four out of five field goals and extended his perfect career extra point streak, now standing at 121-for 121.

With still three games left to go and the Razorbacks needing all three wins to make a bowl, the Hogs need a young core of freshmen to step up. Jaylon Braxton provided yet another spark for the Razorbacks on defense. Braxton ripped the ball from Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall on Florida's first play from scrimmage, which led to the fourth defensive touchdown of the year, tied with Michigan for the most in the country and stretched the lead to 14-0 just 3:12 left in the game.

Arkansas looks to take the momentum garnered from this game and finally win a game at home against Auburn 3 p.m. Nov. 11. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network and FuboTV .
