Razorbacks Trailing at Half After Another Bad Choice

In this story:
ARLINGTON — Arkansas fans will be talking about a sequence late in the second quarter for awhile. It will be interesting to hear Razorbacks' coach Sam Pittman's reasoning behind going for a yard on fourth down instead of punting at midfield.
It's not the first time this season. In a loss to BYU, there were questions and after a lot of moving around Saturday against Texas A&M, quarterback KJ Jefferson had Raheim "Rocket" Sanders beside him and gave it to him after a little delay that gave the Aggies' defense time to react.
I really don't care what the analytics say at this point, Pittman should have understood the momentum swing involved both ways in yet another matchup at AT&T Stadium that's shaping up as a complete battle. A&M has all the momentum and the lead most of the game.
The Hogs were looking for some offensive momentum and can't find a thing. Giving punter Max Fletcher, who had already gave A&M an 80-yard field on a punt he was trying to get out near the goal-line, another one might have helped on momentum. It definitely would have helped the Hogs in field position.
Fans always want to go for the first down, but it's becoming clear there's some sort of issue with Jefferson going under center. Either he's not completely comfortable doing it or offensive coordinator Dan Enos doesn't trust he does.
This decision may prove costly, though. It's 17-6 after the Aggies took over, converted a couple of key plays and finish the first half with a double-digit lead. As we said, they snatched the momentum on another fourth-down decision by Pittman that backfired.
