Domination in trenches by Aggies may have answers Razorbacks' questions badly

In this story:

If there was still hope around all the questions swirling around Arkansas that was drowned out at the end with a devastating injury. We'll find out more about the status of redshirt senior John Morgan later, but he was taken off the field strapped to a medical cart in the fourth quarter.

At that point, Texas A&M was already leading, 34-16, so that injury had no effect on anything but the mood at the end. The Razorbacks had already been exposed and the answers to questions may finally be clearing up a little.

The Hogs' offensive line had issues all day. Despite Andrew Armstrong having a 48-yard touchdown reception late, that will only mean don't just look at the stats and decide anything. No positive answers at wide receiver. The Aggies also had the answer to quarterback KJ Jefferson's running, simply have better players and more of them that. At times he was physically manhandled by the A&M defense.

After keeping the speedy Isaiah Sategna on the sidelines through four games, he had a return and some sweeps but didn't do much with the chances. Don't criticize the fumble in the second half on the punt return because that was ripped out and few could have prevented it coming loose.

The final score could have been more than the 34-22 final score. The Hogs' offense only scored one touchdown all day long. Multiple problems starting in the offensive line won't be solved with coaching anything up, despite what we will probably hear all week. Don't get too excited about the other side, either, because they never figured out how to stop the Aggies from going right up the middle.

Nobody really expected this. The final score was little indication of just how badly the Aggies dominated this game from a physical standpoint. They imposed their will on the Hogs, especially late when there was a glimmer of hope after Armstrong's touchdown.

A&M never gave the ball back. They drove to the Hogs' 6-inch line and the final play, a simple run up the middle, probably would have been called a touchdown if it hadn't been the final play of the game and there was no question about the outcome.

A&M had 414 yards of total offense compared to the Hogs' 174. The Razorbacks had what a lot of people think is the best quarterback in the SEC with Jefferson. He didn't play that way against the Aggies. Maybe the offensive line play was at fault. Injuries at running back (Raheim "Rocket" Sanders played a lot in the first half, but then kinda disappeared) may have not helped. Even the lack of depth at wide receiver and no real star.

On defense, the lack of stopping the Aggies means everyone either seriously under-estimated A&M over was a little overly-optimistic about the defense. They tried to answer punches to the mouth with little slaps. Don't ask me why. Those are questions for others to answer or figure out.

The worst possible news is now reality. The Hogs are 2-3 headed to a pair of road matchups against Ole Miss and Alabama. A lot of people were projecting those as possible or likely wins a month ago.

Now the possibility of being 2-5 is a reality for all but the most optimistic of people looking at things. The spin cycle on this one will start next week. The bottom line, though, A&M has better players that had a better game plan for this game. You should be able to figure out who that points the finger at.
