Kentucky Student Newspaper Student Posts Questionable Video

Tries to promote Eric Musselman doing something wrong without evidence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The people of Kentucky, lacking a win to be excited about after getting bounced from the SEC Tournament by a hot Vanderbilt team Friday night, needed something to perk up their spirits.

Then Jack Weaver, a photojournalist for the University of Kentucky student newspaper, posted a video of Eric Musselman that helped take the minds of Wildcat fans off what just unfolded in Nashville.

The video promotes the idea that it contains Musselman leaving the court dropping f-bombs like he's the lead in a Quentin Tarantino movie. However, the reality is that Musselman casually walks back to the dressing room like a normal human being.

The only potential bit of truth in the post is that a member of the Arkansas staff grabs the cell phone and twists it while it's assumed to be in Weaver's hands. Clearly, that's something that shouldn't have been done, but it's not an action tied to Musselman.

That didn't keep Kentucky fans from taking their frustration out on the Arkansas coach.

The replies fall down a pretty clear line. Half chastise Weaver for saying something happened that isn't shown in his video. The other half wants an investigation into Riley Hall, who appears to be the assistant who reaches toward the phone.

After reaching out last night for comment from Arkansas officials, allHogs.com received the following statement this afternoon.

“I have visited with Riley Hall, a member of our men’s basketball support staff, and others who personally observed an interaction between Mr. Hall and a reporter following our game Friday night at the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament. During our conversation, Mr. Hall expressed his regret that while leaving the floor his engagement inadvertently resulted in knocking the reporter’s cell phone from his hand. While, based on our discussion, I do not believe there was malicious intent, I have addressed the issue with Mr. Hall and he agrees his actions were not appropriate nor reflective of our program. On behalf of Mr. Hall and our program, I want to offer an apology to the reporter impacted by these actions.”
