A seven-run rally in the top of the eighth inning to Auburn in position to pick up the win.

What are the biggest takeaways from the game?

Auburn's bullpen had a solid performance

Christian Herberholz got the start for the Tigers but struggled. Auburn's bullpen was able to get things under control and keep the Blazers off the board.

Parker Carlson pitched 1.1 innings and only allowed one hit while recording two walks and two strikeouts. Alex Petrovic let no one on base and struck two batters out in 1.1 innings of work. Zach Crotchfelt earned his first win of the season in a 1.2 inning effort in which he allowed no one on base and struck two batters out. Hayden Murphy tossed the last two innings and struck two batters out.

Auburn's rotation has been shaky so far this season, but its bullpen has come up big.

Cooper Weiss had a good night

Auburn's graduate shortstop led the way at the plate for the Tigers, going 3-6 with two RBI.

Weiss hit two RBI singles, one in the top of the first inning and the other in the top of the eighth.

Weiss has been a difference-maker for the Tigers on multiple occasions this season and that was once again the case tonight.

Stranded runners were a common occurrence

Leaving runners on base has been a persistent problem for Auburn this season and tonight was anotehr example.

Auburn stranded 10 runners while UAB stranded seven.

The Tigers need to find a way to get more of these runners across the plate to be more competitive as conference play continues.

Auburn is now 17-11 on the season and 1-8 in conference play.
