Here are some quotes from Hugh Freeze's presser:

On if the coaching staff had pressure to keep kids committed while trying to flip others:

"It was both. There are some schools in this conference that believe in last night efforts. You got to fight, you got to hold on. You got to stay up all night and play video games and do stuff that’s out of my comfort zone. There were some late night pushes and we held one some and won one and lost one… people in this conference are good at what they do."

On Walker White:

"I think Walker White is going to be a star. I think he’s got all of the attributes of what a quarterback should look like. I think he is a true Auburn man. I don’t know how quickly he will adjust to this game, but I think he’s got the skillsets to do that."

On the wide receiver commits:

"It’s no secret we needed to get some difference makers at the receiver position. To land two of the top 10 in the nation in Cam and Perry, and two others that I think are sleepers in Bryce and Malcolm - but they both are ranked in the top 150 in the country - Now, they’re going to have to get thrown in the deep end of the pool and swim pretty fast, but I think they have that ability. It changes our offense if we have guys like that on the outside and in the slot that can make plays. And I’ve seen them do it."

On Cam Coleman's recruitment:

"All of our staff, but Marcus Davis, he had to spend extra, extra time because of the number of kids we were trying to sign… when Cam made his commitment to another school, we said ‘that’s fine, but we won’t waiver, and we are not going away, and we are going to fight until the end, and we are going to prove to you that we want you more.’ Obviously it helped that the other school had a coaching change, but I’d like to think we were going to win it anyway."

On if Auburn will finish with a top-five class in 2025:

I’m optimistic… he said we’re already at five, so we’ve just got to hold on (laughs)... I think with what we did this year in the short time we had, I think it’s a reasonable expectation that we should be around that top five range. If we’re sixth, or seventh, I don’t think that’s terrible either… I do think it’s reasonable to expect that.

Auburn football signs Bryce Cain: 1:15 CT

Cain is one of Auburn's four high-profile receiver commits.

Read more about Cain here.

1:15 CT

Hugh Freeze announced at his press conference that Auburn has signed Duke LB Dorian Mausi via the portal.

FULL STORY.

12:55 CT

As a quick note, I believe Amaris Williams has the best upside of any interior defensive lineman in the country, David Stone included. Williams is a special athlete. - Brian Smith

Auburn football signs Amaris Williams: 12:45 CT

Williams, one of the best defensive linemen in the 2024 class, flipped his commitment from Florida to Auburn.

Read more about Williams here.

Auburn football signs Malcolm Simmons: 11:50 CT

Simmons is one of Auburn's big time receiver commits.

Read more about Simmons here.

Auburn football signs D'Angelo Barber: 11:30 CT

Barber is the No. 52 linebacker and the No. 30 player in the state of Alabama according to the 247Sports composite ratings.

Read more about Barber here.

11:09 CT

Jamonta Waller has signed via his Instagram Live. The JACK linebacker should provide an instant impact for the Tigers in 2024.

Here's more on Waller.

10:57 CT

Auburn signing Perry Thompson and Cam Coleman is a coup. Both are elite playmakers that can play outside receiver positions or move into the slot and create mismatches.

Combining those two with Bryce Cain (fastest wide receiver Auburn will sign today?) and Malcolm Simmons is going to be like a track meet at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Here’s the full scouting evaluation for Coleman.

Auburn football signs Dylan Gentry: 10:37 CT

Gentry is rated as a three-star prospect according to 247Sports.

Auburn football signs Cam Coleman: 10:16 CT

Auburn's highest-rated commitment has officially signed with the program immediately after fellow five-star receiver Perry Thompson signed.

Auburn football signs Perry Thompson: 10:04 CT

Auburn's second-highest-rated recruit has officially signed with the program.

Auburn football signs DeAndre Carter: 9:44 CT

Carter is one of the best offensive lineman the Tigers have signed in a while.

Auburn football signs A'Mon Lane: 9:40 CT

Speedy cornerback A'Mon Lane is headed to the Plains.

Read more about Lane here.

9:39 CT

Intel: Just heard further confirmation that there’s a real chance 5-star defensive lineman LJ McCray does not sign today. That might bode well for Auburn. McCray is becoming good friends with likely AU signee Amaris Williams. Williams is signing later today.

If Williams does flip from Florida to Auburn, that could honestly help the Tigers quite a bit in pulling off the second flip of a UF commitment today, and that’s McCray. It is unusual, but sometimes recruits truly want to play together.

Also, that would be three Florida defensive line/edge recruits flipping to Auburn because Jamonta Waller already made that switch.

9:18 CT

A tough loss for Auburn here as many expected him to sign with Auburn:

Auburn football signs Walker White: 9:10 CT

Little Rock Christian Academy's Walker White has signed his letter of intent with the Tigers.

Read about White here.

8:54 CT

Hayes Fawcett of On3 has announced that five-star defensive lineman LJ McCray tells him there is a "high possibility" that he does not sign today.

McCray is currently the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2024 class and is committed to Florida. This bodes well for Auburn longterm.

Auburn football signs Laquan Robinson: 8:53 CT

Auburn brings home a former Alabama prep prospect to the Plains, LaQuan Robinson.

Read about Robinson here.

8:44 CT

Steve Wiltfong has dropped a crystal ball for Auburn to land big-time defensive lineman Amaris Williams!

He's an incredibly athletic player who actually played wildcat quarterback and running back this past season for Clinton (N.C.) High School. He's 6-foot-2 and 265 pounds. Williams also saw time as an edge defender and at linebacker.

8:34 CT

It's good to see that 247Sports likes where Auburn stands with Coen Echols. See #10:

Auburn signs Gage Keys: 8:30 CT

The Tigers have landed a transfer defensive lineman.

Read about Keys here.

8:29 CT

Check out the video of Malik Blocton being interviewed about Auburn:

8:13 CT

There's a lot of buzz for current Florida State commitment KJ Bolden to flip to his home-state SEC program, the Georgia Bulldogs. That's a 5-star that Hugh Freeze and the Tigers have been recruiting hard as well.

8:10 CT

Just as a reminder, there could be recruits signing later today and even later this week. Offensive lineman Coen Echols is expected to choose between Auburn and LSU on Friday.

Auburn signs Jayln Crawford: 8:05 CT

Auburn lands a top cornerback from talent-rich Parkview.

Read our bio on Crawford.

8:01 CT

As a note for Auburn fans, make no mistake that Joseph Phillips is an edge rusher who can absolutely come into the Tigers program and make an impact. He played numerous positions at his Booker T. Washington program and it's because of his athleticism and football IQ. Great player!

Auburn signs Joseph Phillips: 7:46 CT

The Tigers have signed one of the best EDGE prospects in the country.

Read our bio on Joseph Phillips.

Auburn signs Robert Lewis: 7:09 CT

Auburn has officially signed Robert Lewis from Georgia State via the transfer portal.

Auburn signs Malik Blocton: 6:20 CT

National Signing Day - 5:55 a.m. CST update

Welcome to Auburn's National Signing Day! It's going to be a wild ride! Let's get started.

One of the key recruits to watch is not likely to sign today. At least that's the expected out for Katy (Texas) High School offensive lineman Coen Echols. He's supposed to sign his letter of intent on Friday. Until otherwise proven, this is an Auburn versus LSU battle.

Echols is the nation's #252 player by the 247Sports composite rankings.

There will be many updates throughout the day so stay tuned!

Dec. 19, 5:24 p.m. CST

As a precursor for what's to come, I like Auburn's chances to sign at least two of the following prospects still on the board for Hugh Freeze and the Tigers: safety KJ Bolden from Buford (Ga.) High School, defensive lineman LJ McCray from Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland, and defensive lineman Amaris Williams from Clinton (N.C.).

Bolden is a consensus 5-star while Williams and McCray are also elite prospects who are ranked as 4-star or 5-star players depending on the recruiting service.

Adding these three elite recruits to the already committed prospects would place the Tigers well inside the national top-10 recruiting rankings. If the Tigers also eventually add Ryan Williams (signing on Feb. 9), that's a top-5 class for Auburn.

Do not forget about the offensive line either. From Katy (Texas) High School, Coen Echols is a player Freeze and his staff really want to add. It's Auburn or LSU as of Tuesday evening. As a rule, it can be difficult to beat LSU for recruits in the Houston area even if it would be Texas or Texas A&M in contention. Auburn has its work cut out for itself.
