3 things to know about the Mississippi State Bulldogs

Auburn will be looking to get back on track tomorrow against Mississippi State. What are the most important things to know about the Bulldogs?

The No. 11 Auburn Tigers take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs tomorrow at home inside Neville Arena.

Auburn will be looking to get back on track after losing to No. 4 Tennessee on the road on Wednesday night. Mississippi State fell heartbreakingly to Kentucky on Tuesday night.

What are three of the most important things to know about the Mississippi State Bulldogs?

Mississippi State can dominate on the glass

The Bulldogs average 39.1 rebounds per game which places them at No. 4 in the SEC.

Rebounding was a difference-maker when Mississippi State beat Auburn in January.

Whoever wins the battle of the boards will likely come away with the win.

Tolu Smith and Josh Hubbard can cause problems

Mississippi State has two highly skilled players in forward Tolu Smith and guard Josh Hubbard.

Smith, a 6-foot-11 senior, leads the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game respectively.

Hubbard, a 5-foot-10 freshman, averages 15.9 points per, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists and shoots 38.9% from the field.

Auburn will need to contain these two or the Bulldogs could pull off an upset.

Mississippi State has been improving

Despite a rough start to conference play, the Bulldogs have figured things out down the stretch.

Mississippi State had won five games in a row before losing to Kentucky on a buzzer-beater.

The Bulldogs are not a team to be taken lightly.

Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on SEC Network and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app.
