Auburn football's 2024 conference schedule ranked second-toughest the SEC

With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the conference coming next year, there's been an ongoing discussion as to whether or not the format of the schedule changes, how many games in conference play are had, and whether or not certain rivalries are kept for the betterment of the league.

The SEC has now released the entire 2024 SEC schedule for the Tigers alongside the rest of the league's slates.

Auburn will get Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt at home. A very weird home slate.

The Tigers will travel to Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, and Kentucky - a very SEC east heavy travel schedule.

Auburn will not play either Mississippi school for the first time since 1936. They will not play LSU for the first time since 1991. It should also be noted that Auburn is the only team in the league to play both Alabama and Georgia on the road.

According to CBS Sports it is the second-toughest conference slate in the SEC behind Oklahoma, who drew Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas (Dallas) at home, and Auburn, LSU, Missouri, and Ole Miss on the road.

"The Tigers currently have to play rivals Alabama and Georgia on the road during even-numbered years, so their road presence on the 2024 schedule isn't exactly a shock. However, the big news is that they're the only SEC team to have that distinguished (sarcasm intended) honor when the Longhorns and Sooners join."
