Bleacher Report suggests Georgia QB could be a 'long shot' transfer idea for Auburn Tigers

In this story:
The Auburn Tigers are in the market for a transfer portal quarterback, and if things work out the right way through spring, they may be in store for a high-profile signal-caller.
Brad Shepard of Bleacher Report recently wrote an article detailing "Long Shot CFB Transfer Ideas for Big-Name QBs Who May Lose Key Position Battles," and within the article he provides a potential portal QB for the Auburn Tigers: Brock Vandagriff of Georgia.
Vandagriff, a former five-star quarterback in the 2021 class, has only attempted three passes during his time with the Bulldogs, and with Stetson Bennett having stayed a decade longer than anticipated, the QB situation for Vandagriff could be a bit different, causing a portal exit.
Shepard's longshot prediction rests on the fact that he believes with Bennett leaving, freshman Gunner Stockton will redshirt, and therefore we should "expect Carson Beck to run away with the quarterback competition in Athens."
Shepard believes if Beck is the clear frontrunner then the former five-star will be looking for a place to transfer. "Going to Georgia Tech would be an option; after all, Vandagriff is a Peach State native who may want to stay close to home," Shepard wrote. "Florida would love his talent, but in this hypothetical universe, we've given the Gators MJ Morris. Why wouldn't Vandagriff (or Stockton, for that matter, since he was heavily pursued by Auburn) head to the Dawgs' SEC West rival Tigers? With new coach Hugh Freeze on the Plains, Auburn took some transfer portal swings for guys like Devin Leary and Spencer Sanders."
It doesn't seem as far fetched of an idea if Vandagriff actually enters the portal, and if the Tigers want to give their current QB room a bit of an upgrade, no one would complain.
"With incumbent Robby Ashford set to battle returners T.J. Finley and Holden Geriner, as well as incoming freshman Hank Brown, there aren't any exciting options on paper," Shepard said. "Vandagriff is a 6'3", 205-pound former 5-star from Bogart, Georgia, who didn't play strong competition in high school and hasn't broken through with UGA. But two years under offensive coordinator Todd Monken had to help. He may upgrade Auburn's situation."
