Three-star WR showed out at Auburn Elite Camp

Bryce Cain had an explosive showing during drills at the camp.

Auburn has been able to turn a few Mobile area three-stars into stars.

Deshaun Davis and Roger McCreary come to mind when you think of Auburn and Mobile - both made it to the NFL, McCreary being a 2nd round draft pick.

Auburn is now looking to add a three-star Mobile native Bryce Cain. The Baker High School standout has shown his skills at many camps across the country and has gained momentum across recruiting sites and team boards for these dynamic showings. Cain also put up respectable numbers in his Junior season racking up almost 500 yards and five touchdowns.

The Auburn Elite Camp that took place this past Friday, had many high-profile recruits. Auburn QB commit Walker White, who is seen as one of the Tigers' best-in-class recruiters, was throwing to Cain for the majority of the throwing and receiving windows. Auburn targets Jakaleb Faulk, Malcolm Simmons, Jarcoby Hopson were also in attendance.

Cain, who put his camp videos on his Twitter, showed impressive route running and first-step speed. As a smaller wide receiver, these are vital because at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, Bryce will most likely not win 50-50 balls and will look to get behind the defense to make explosive plays. The most impressive video to me was Cain starting in a slot position and breaking to the boundary on his left, the ball was thrown perfectly and he managed to keep his feet in bounds to make a catch that would have counted in both college and the NFL.

The intriguing part about this camp for Cain was not the highlight plays or the rise of his stock after such a performance but it's to see the Auburn staff one more time before he commits.

Cain is expected to choose between Auburn and Ole Miss by the end of June. Sources tell Auburn Daily that Auburn had the lead following Friday's camp.
