2025 QB Deuce Knight lists Auburn among top schools

Could Hugh Freeze and staff be close to adding another quarterback?

The Auburn football program has already secured a promising quarterback, Walker White, for their 2024 recruiting class. Now, they have set their sights on acquiring a talented quarterback for the 2025 cycle.

In a positive development for the team, four-star prospect Deuce Knight revealed his top 10 schools, with Auburn being among them as well as several other top schools throughout college football.

Hailing from Lucedale, Mississippi, Deuce Knight listed Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington, and TCU in addition to Auburn. The Tigers extended a scholarship offer to Knight on January 17, and he made an unofficial visit to their campus on March 29.

Offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery appears to be leading the recruitment efforts for Knight.

According to the 247Sports Composite ranking, Knight holds an impressive standing as the 133rd overall player and the seventh overall quarterback in the 2025 class. Additionally, he is recognized as the sixth-best player from Mississippi. Listed at 6-foot-4, 185-pounds, Knight is one of seven quarterbacks in the 2025 class who have received offers from Auburn.

During his sophomore season, Knight showcased his skills by completing 61.7% of his passes for 1,929 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. He also made significant contributions on the ground, accumulating 488 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns, leading both categories for George County High School.
