Hugh Freeze: 'Robby Ashford helps us win football games'

Hugh Freeze thinks Robby Ashford will help Auburn win football games.

Coach Hugh Freeze was asked about quarterback Robby Ashford and where he stands after fall.

Here was Freeze's response, "We've challenged Robby, you know since I've been here to elevate what comes with being the quarterback at Auburn, and I think he's responded mostly positively with that. We haven't been in the fires yet. We hadn't been in the competition yet to see how everyone is going to respond, not just Robby. I mean, it's going to be everyone. How do they handle it? This is life. You're never going to be the only guy that should be competing, and hopefully, he handles it well because I do think Robby Ashford helps us win football games."

It's interesting that Coach Freeze feels confident that Ashford will be on the field in some capacity and help the team win.

All Auburn fans know how much athleticism Ashford possesses, and they will be able to use his legs in some form or fashion.

This definitely be more of a quarterback battle than many imagined after hearing Coach Freeze speak at SEC Media Days.

SEC Media Days is being hosted this year in Nashville, Tennessee for the very first time.
