Tony Barnhart likes how Hugh Freeze used the transfer portal

In this story:
Tony Barnhart, "Mr. College Football," joined the Locked On Auburn Podcast to discuss the upcoming 2023 season.
Host Zac Blackerby asked Barnhart about his thoughts on the transfer portal.
Barnhart responded, "You know, coaches whine about the transfer portal. The fact of the matter is transfer portal is a great vehicle for coaches. Either you take a new job, and you've got to flip the roster, you can do it incredibly fast, or you have a bad year, and you need help at this position or that position. So I think on balance, you know, the coach doesn't like it when he loses a good player to somebody else. But if he needed a defensive back or he needed two wide receivers, so you can rebuild a roster a lot faster, which is why I think, you know, Auburn may have a chance to finish better than a lot of people think."
It's exciting to hear that Barnhart believes Auburn will return to national prowess sooner than later.
Barnhart believes the Tigers transfer additions could lead to Auburn having a better season than a lot of people are projecting.
Hugh Freeze might shock the college football world in his first season on the Plains.
