247Sports put out their transfer portal class rankings for this cycle and had Auburn fifth behind Florida State, USC, Colorado, and LSU.

They listed Auburn's hot names as Payton Thorne, Avery Jones, Justin Rogers, and Caleb Burton.

I would argue that there are a lot of names that should have been listed here that were not.

Names like Shane Hooks, Brain Battie, Jyaire Shorter, Jalen McLeod, Gunner Britton, Dillon Wade, and Rivaldo Fairweather.

I foresee all of the names I just listed having a massive role for the Tigers in their first season on the Plains.

Colorado's transfer class is being overhyped since it's more of a quantity approach than a quality approach, aside from a few talented players.

When the 2023 season is all said and done, Auburn's transfer class will end up being higher on this list based on the impact so many of these players will have on the field.

In the new age of college football, it's good to see that Coach Freeze using the portal well.
