'Only a matter of time' until Auburn's action in the portal heats up

I have been wrong about how this transfer portal window would start.

Like what we saw in the transfer portal window in December, I expected to see a mass exodus and fairly quick commitments all over college football, and with Hugh Freeze trying to flip the roster, I expected Auburn to get involved early.

This hasn't been the case. Not just at Auburn, but throughout all of college football.

I reached out to a source close to the program and asked how things were going and I said I'm surprised at how slow the action has been with only Jeffrey M'ba and Tarvarrish Dawson putting their names in over the weekend.

The response was, "Only a matter of time, sadly."

Auburn's position coaches met with their position groups in one-on-one settings to give reviews of spring and their standing with the staff.

While it's been slow, and there are several reasons for that ranging from the timing of spring games to the lack of urgency to get enrolled before summer classes, it's coming.
