Making the case: Why Payton Thorne should start vs Ole Miss

In this story:
Auburn currently has some issues at quarterback.
The rotation between Payton Thorne and Robby Ashford isn't working and fans have become extremely disgruntled with the way Auburn is handling their offense.
It may be time for a quarterback change. Or, it could be time to double down on the current starter.
Here are three reasons why Auburn should start Payton Thorne this weekend.
Thorne may be Auburn's most accurate quarterback
It's important to point out that Thorne threw for over 6,500 yards in three seasons at Michigan State with a 61.0% completion percentage. He's done this before at a Power Five level.
Hugh Freeze and Auburn obviously have a different staff, different personnel surrounding Thorne, and a harder schedule to work against.
That doesn't mean it can't work at all, ever.
Just because it hasn't worked yet...
That brings us to the next reason why Thorne should start - just because it hasn't worked yet doesn't mean it's not going to.
Auburn opened the season with a road trip across the country, a road game against one of the most talented teams in the league, a home game against the most talented team in the league, and a road trip against the best offense arguably in college football.
It feels like the Tigers may have a better chance to be competitive with a back half of a schedule that seems a little easier. Thorne and the offense could find success against Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and New Mexico State.
Auburn may need to try to throw the ball against Ole Miss' defense
Ole Miss is 112th nationally in passing yards allowed per game with 261.5 per contest.
If Thorne is going to turn things around, at home, and get this offense going, it's now.
