Experienced defensive lineman out of Colorado enters the transfer portal

Na`im Rodman looks like a perfect fit for Auburn

Na`im Rodman, a six-foot-two 305-pound interior defensive lineman out of Lakewood, California, has thrown his name in the portal. Rodman is a former three-star recruit that had been one of the few bright spots for a struggling Buffalo defense.

Rodman is an old-school clog-the-middle defensive lineman that creeping defenses, such as Auburn's defensive coordinator Ron Robert’s, love to have to free up the edge and linebackers to make tackles. That doesn’t lead to dazzling stats. Rodman had 53 tackles in 17 starts for Colorado, but his contribution was immeasurable.

He can absolutely terrorize an offensive line with his mass and power. Auburn could use quality depth in the interior of their defensive line right now. Maybe Rodman is a guy that becomes one of the Auburn family.

One this is for certain, new Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is burning both ends of the transfer portal. Twenty-three players have already left the Buffs this off-season. Losing Rodman probably wasn’t in his plan. There are a lot of teams looking for his level of talent right now. Including Auburn.

The Tigers have now had five players depart from the program within the last couple of weeks, including three backup linebackers:

Wide Receiver Tar'Varish Dawson

Defensive lineman Jeffrey M'ba

Linebacker Kameron Brown

Linebacker Desmond Tisdol

Linebacker Powell Gordon

Auburn has pulled in an impressive haul thus far during Hugh Freeze's first season on the Plains, currently sitting at No. 3 nationally in 247Sports' transfer portal class rankings.
