Five-star safety and top Auburn target set to visit this weekend

This week is going to be a monster weekend for both Auburn football and basketball recruiting and it just got even bigger.

KJ Bolden, a 5-star safety who is currently committed to Florida State, will be on the Plains this weekend.

Bolden is a native of Buford, Ga. and he attends Buford High School where he also runs track.

According to 247Sports, Bolden has a 0.9957 composite rating. He is the No. 9 ranked player nationally in the class of 2024, the No. 1 safety and the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete has offers from every top program in the country.

Bolden was in Auburn for Big Cat Weekend in July and mentioned that he almost committed during the event.

If Auburn was able to convince Bolden to flip, he would be the highest-ranked recruit in Auburn's 2024 recruiting class. 5-star Wide receiver Perry Thompson currently holds that title with a 247Sports composite rating of 0.9858.

Additionally, Bolden would be the fifth-highest-rated recruit in program history. That spot is currently held by Tray Blackmon, a 5-star linebacker from the class of 2005 who had a 0.9956 composite rating according to 247Sports.

If head coach Hugh Freeze and company were able to convince Bolden to bring his talents to the Plains, that would go a long way toward making Auburn football nationally relevant once again.

The 2024 recruiting class will go a long way toward determining how Freeze's Auburn tenure will go and he will leave no stone unturned making sure it gets the job done.
