Notre Dame WR Lorenzo Styles enters the transfer portal
Lorenzo Styles, a six-foot-one 185-pound former 4-star prospect out of Pickerington, Ohio, has put his name in the portal out of Notre Dame. He was the #71 overall recruit in 2021.
Styles is a veteran receiver that caught 54 passes for 684 yards with 2 touchdowns in two seasons with the Fighting Irish. He is not a large receiver, average size, but has excellent body control and can flat blow the top off a defense with elite speed. Can play outside or in the slot, and will develop into an NFL receiver with his type of speed.
On film, he would remind Auburn fans a bit of Anthony Swartz. Auburn is currently stacked in the wide receiver room, but Auburn Daily believes there will be a bit of attrition from it. A lightning-quick Styles will be a great addition to any Power 5 school that could utilize him in several ways. Perhaps Hugh Freeze and Phillip Montgomery can find a place for this young speedster.
The Tigers have now had five players depart from the program within the last couple of weeks, including three backup linebackers:
Wide Receiver Tar'Varish Dawson
Defensive lineman Jeffrey M'ba
Linebacker Kameron Brown
Linebacker Desmond Tisdol
Linebacker Powell Gordon
Auburn has pulled in an impressive haul thus far during Hugh Freeze's first season on the Plains, currently sitting at No. 3 nationally in 247Sports' transfer portal class rankings.
