Auburn's offense had a lot of problems on Saturday as the Hugh Freeze and the Tigers suffered their first loss of the season 27-10 at the hands of Texas A&M.
Auburn's defense kept the Tigers in this game. At the half, Auburn was only trailing by three with a 6-3 score. In the second half, Texas A&M finally got the ball rolling with backup quarterback Max Johnson taking over the game with his arm.
It's an ugly loss that will allow the Tigers to take a step back and reevaluate where the offense is a third of the way into the season.
Here are photos from Auburn's loss.
Michigan State transfer Payton Thorne has not impressed through four games as the Tigers' primary signal-caller, leading offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery to pull him out for Robby Ashford, last year's starter.
The rotation has been clunky, with no success and a clear lack of rhythm. It feels like a tale we've been reading about Auburn forever; they can't find a solid, consistent quarterback to lead the offense.
The issue reared its ugly head once again on the road in a 27-10 loss to Texas A&M.
