In this story:

Auburn's wide receivers have been touch and go this season.

A few staples have emerged as the favorite targets for Payton Thorne in this offense while some have trended down as being a part of the Auburn passing attack.

Here's a look at Auburn's eight players that have more than 10 targets on the season.

1. Jay Fair, WR - 42 targets

Fair is tied for the team lead in targets and is second on the team in receptions with 30. Fair, who stood out in fall camp, has lived up to the hype and been a reliable option in the slot for the Tigers.

1. Rivaldo Fairweather, TE - 42 targets

Fairweather leads Auburn with 33 receptions and has been the brightest part of Auburn's passing game. If Auburn is going to move the ball through the air, the large tight end has to be a part of it.

3. Ja'Varrius Johnson, WR - 22 targets

Johnson has battled some lingering injuries throughout his time at Auburn and sadly that happened throughout the season as well. Still, his burst and explosiveness is still evident and will be needed this weekend. Johnson has 15 catches on the season.

3. Jarquez Hunter, RB - 22 targets

Hunter has been effective in the receiving game as well as what he does on the ground. His 16 catches is third on the team.

3. Shane Hooks, WR - 22 targets

Hooks seems to have dropped in the market share of targets over the past few weeks. After a solid outing against Mississippi State, his targets have virtually disappeared despite him being on the field.

Hooks' reception percentage is an ineffective 40.9%, the lowest on the team with players that have more than 10 targets.

6. Camden Brown, WR - 16 targets

Brown's role has not been what many expected going into the season but his frame, speed, and ability, all offer a ton of upside and may be needed in the passing game for AUburn to pull off an upset this weekend. He has 8 catches, meaning only half of the time he;s thrown to results in a catch.

7. Caleb Burton, WR - 15 targets

Burton's 10 catches have been memorable since his role expanded down the stretch. When looking at Burton's production, it's important to note that he's only played in seven games this season.

8. Malcolm Johnson Jr., WR - 14 targets

Johnson has been thrown to in some tough situations. He only hauled in six of the 14 targets. He's getting targets from Thorne but we haven't seen his elite speed used like we thought we might entering the season.
