With the 2026 season looming close for the Auburn Tigers, it can be easy to forget that Alex Golesh’s recruiting classes in 2027 and 2028 stand among the best in the nation.

However, these two players seemed determined to remind the Auburn family that they should be excited about them, as on Friday night, both of these players turned in impressive performances in their high school season openers on Friday night.

One of these players, Deshawn Hall, is a massively anticipated wide receiver recruit in the class of 2027, while the other, Sam Sollie, is the Tigers’ latest recruit and is a quarterback in the class of 2028. Let’s break down both of their performances and analyze the impact each could bring to Auburn in the coming years.

Deshawn Hall - Prattville

Prattville opened their season on Friday night against Niceville in dominating fashion, taking down the Eagles 49-7, and Hall was a big part of that effort. Despite playing limited snaps, as is common in blowouts when a team has a player as highly regarded as Hall, the senior managed to bring in five passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.

This production, especially on only five receptions, is an incredibly strong look for Hall, who was nearly committed to Penn State back in June before the Tigers swooped in at the last second and swayed him to the Plains.

The Tigers are a bit short on top-tier talent in the receiving room this year, so having top-level talent like Hall on the horizon bodes well for the future of Alex Golesh’s passing attack.

Sam Sollie- Gadsden City

Another in-state prospect, Sollie is a quarterback in the class of 2028 who, at the moment, stands as the only commit in the Tigers’ 2028 class. Of course, it is early to get a class that far down the road started, which makes it all the more impressive that the Tigers have already snapped him up in the recruiting rankings.

Sollie, a junior, played in his first true season-opener last night, as he only earned the starting job at Gadsden City in week four of last season. Sollie’s Titans may have fallen to the Oxford Yellow Jackets, but the junior still managed to complete 10 of his 20 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns, averaging over 20 yards per completion.

Sollie is still quite young and has a full two seasons of development ahead of him before he is set to head to the Plains, but a performance like this is a great starting point for a top recruit in 2026. If he is able to continue to develop while improving this pace, he should have no trouble getting the Auburn faithful to be extremely excited to have him on their team’s roster.
