WATCH: Shea Langeliers Guns Down Runner at Second

Former Baylor Bears catcher making a splash in first three days since being called up to the majors

It hasn't taken long for Oakland Athletics' No. 1 prospect Shea Langeliers to get comfortable in the major leagues.

After garnering his first MLB hit on Tuesday, a scorching double, followed by notching his first big league homer on Wednesday, the rookie catcher nabbed another career-first of many on Thursday afternoon in Arlington, Texas -- gunning down Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien trying to steal second base on a bullet from the former Baylor Bears backstop.

Langeliers was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to the Athletics organization on Tuesday and came up big in his very first at-bat prior to ending the night going 1-for-4 with a double.

Donning green and gold once again, following a stellar collegiate career for the Baylor Bears baseball team from 2017-2019, Langeliers nabbed another milestone on Wednesday when he smoked an 0-2 pitch with two outs out of the ballpark for his first major league home run.

Thus far through three games for Oakland, Langeliers is batting .250 with two runs batted in, two doubles and one home run. Along with his defensive gems in Thursday's matinee game, of course.

The 24-year-old catcher, who was originally selected by the Atlanta Braves with the ninth overall pick in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft, had a .283 batting average with 56 runs batted in, 19 home runs and five stolen bases through 92 games with Triple-A Las Vegas before being called up to the big leagues on Tuesday.
