Bears set to honor eight athletes in six sports at HOF banquet on Nov. 18

Robert Griffin III leads an elite group of eight former Bears in six different sports being inducted into the Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame 2022 class.

In addition to Griffin III (football), other former Baylor athletes set to be honored include Demond "Tweety" Carter (men's basketball), Taylor Barnes Fallon (volleyball), Jeremy Alcorn (men's golf), Doak Field (football), Gary Kafer (track & field), Josh Ludy (baseball) and Quentin Iglehart-Summers (track & field).

Former Baylor lettermen and Air Force pilots Col. Tyree Newton (baseball) and the late Col. Wilbur Mehaffey (football) will also be honored as the latest additions to the "B" Association Wall of Honor.

The 2022 Hall of Fame banquet is slated for Friday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the Cashion Building Banquet Room on the campus of Baylor University.

"God gets all the glory!" Griffin III posted on Twitter. "Honored and blessed to be going into Baylor's Hall of Fame this year. It wouldn’t have been possible without all my coaches and teammates from 2008-2011, my family or the fans.

"God gives us tests so we can have a testimony. Congrats to all the inductees."

The Heisman Trophy winner's wife also chimed in on social media to congratulate her husband.

Carter, who attended Baylor from 2006-2010 and is now a member of the men's basketball coaching staff, tweeted his thanks online.

"First and foremost, Thank You God," Carter tweeted on Thursday. "I've been blessed beyond all measure to do WHAT I love for the PLACE that I love and I continue to see the power of your grace day in and day out.

"Baylor University has been my home away from home and to be given this honor is truly a blessing."

Baylor men's basketball also gave a social media shout-out to the former star point guard and current Director of Player Development.

Barnes Fallon showed her appreciation with a post on Facebook.

"What an honor," Barnes Fallon posted. "Sic em!!"

Baylor volleyball was quick to recognize Barnes Fallon's induction with a post on Twitter.

Alcorn, Field, Kafer, Ludy and Iglehart-Summers were all also recognized through social media posts on Thursday.
