The Baylor Bears have been hitting the recruiting trail hard over the last few months, and currently hold one of the top 2023 classes in the country thus far.

However, while the 2023 cycle is not even at its halfway point as of yet, the Bears also have their attention set firmly on the 2024 class as well, where Lake Belton (Temple, TX) wideout Micah Hudson has become one of Baylor's top targets.

It's no surprise why the Bears are so infatuated with Hudson, who possesses game-breaking speed and athleticism.

In fact, as just a freshman, Hudson ran an 11.54 100-meter dash and a 23.26 200-meter dash and long jumped a 21-1 in track and field. And in football, he parlayed those gifts into 22 catches for 466 yards and six touchdowns, while rushing 41 times for 655 yards and six more scores.

Since then, he has only gotten faster and stronger.

Last season in his sophomore campaign, Hudson was nearly unstoppable at wideout, catching 45 passes for 851 yards and nine touchdowns, and averaging 18.91 yards per catch.

He has also torn up the 7-on-7 circuit in recent months, as you can see in this video below:

What is perhaps more surprising, at least on the surface, is that Hudson is also showing great interest in Baylor, despite offers from a myriad of top programs, including Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.

However, if you ask Hudson, as InsideTheBears.com did on Monday, it should not be surprising at all.

"I think it’s a very determined and a great hard-working program," Hudson said of the Bears. "Everybody has a high standard which makes it a great place for everyone."

Unfortunately, Baylor cannot have full contact with Hudson at the present time due to NCAA recruiting rules. However, in the interactions that Hudson has had thus far with the Bears, he has come away extremely impressed.

"I haven’t really spoken to anybody from there much besides coach (Rhett) Holcomb," Hudson said. "But when I’ve been there it’s been a pretty good environment."

For now, the Bears will have to do their best to fight off the competition, with conference rival Texas Tech being one of the bigger threats in his recruitment.

But given the way they have made headway thus far, the Bears will have as good a shot as anyone.
