Zach Wilson Leads Wild Comeback Win Over Giants

Wilson led a late two-minute drill to send the game to overtime

It wasn't Zach Wilson's best performance of the season, but he made plays when it mattered most in the Jets 13-10 win over the Giants. Wilson finished 17/36 for 240 yards and a touchdown. He also led the Jets in rushing with four carries for 25 yards. In a day that included rainy, wet conditions, the Jets offense struggled throughout the game.

Wilson missed a few throws and held the ball a few too many times, but inconsistent protection and no running game didn't help the Jets offense.

That is, until Zach Wilson took the field with 24 seconds remaining, trailing 10-7. The Jets started the drive at their own 25 yard-line. On the first play of the drive Wilson threw a laser to Garret Wilson over the middle for 29 yards. On the next play with 17 seconds remaining, Wilson was flushed out of the pocket. He bought some time and threw another dart to hit Allen Lazard in stride for another 29 yard gain. The Jets, who started the drive with no timeouts, rushed to the line and spiked the ball and stopped the clock with one second remaining to set up the field goal.

In overtime, the Jets forced a punt and Wilson got the ball back with a chance to win the game. The Jets faced a 3rd & 10 from their own 39 when Zach Wilson sat in the pocket and hit Garret Wilson for an 11-yard gain. Wilson stayed in the pocket despite the pressure and delivered the strike.

A few plays later, the Jets faced another third down. Wilson read man coverage and took a deep shot downfield. The Giants were flagged for pass interference and the Jets moved into field goal territory. The Jets kicked the game-winning field goal to win the game 13-10.
