The BYU coaching staff has already added 16 transfers to the roster for the 2023 season, and they still have multiple scholarships to use on transfers. Hundreds of players have entered the transfer portal during the second transfer window of the offseason, which opened on April 15th and will close at the end of April. BYU is in touch with dozens of players, but here are three transfer targets to keep an eye on.

Darius Lassiter - Eastern Michigan WR

Lassiter, a wide receiver, spent one season at Eastern Michigan where he racked up 471 receiving yards on 40 receptions including 4 touchdowns. Lassiter was part of an Eastern Michigan team that upset Arizona State on the road and won nine games including the Idaho Potato Bowl against San Jose State. Lassiter got better as the season went on - his best performance came in the bowl game where he caught six passes for 108 yards including two touchdowns.

Lassiter has two seasons of eligibility remaining and he has received competing offers from Pitt, Boston College, Tulsa, ECU, Toledo, and UNLV since entering the transfer portal.

Wide receiver is a position of great need. After Spring camp, offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick said BYU was short as many as three or four scholarship wide receivers.

Harrison Taggart - Oregon LB

On Wednesday, former four-star recruit and Corner Canyon standout Harrison Taggart entered the transfer portal. Taggart signed with Oregon as part of the 2022 recruiting class. After one season in Eugene, Taggart entered the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining.

Taggart received 25 offers coming out of high school from the likes of USC, Utah, Cal, Virginia, UCLA, Nebraska, Louisville, and Colorado among others. Despite prepping down the road from BYU's campus, Taggart did not receive a scholarship offer from BYU's defensive staff at the time.

With a new defensive staff in place, expect BYU's new defensive staff to be aggressive in its pursuit of Taggart. Taggart was one of the fastest linebackers in his class, making him a perfect fit for BYU's new scheme. Taggart ran a sub 10.7 100m in high school.

BYU has created a recruiting pipeline at Corner Canyon over the last several years. Most notably, BYU signed fellow 2022 four-star recruit Cody Hagen before he left for his mission. Additionally, former Corner Canyon linebacker Micah Wilson is on BYU's roster. Wilson, Taggart, and Hagen were seniors together at Corner Canyon High School.

Montana Lemonious-Craig - WR

Montana Lemonious-Craig received an offer from BYU this week. Lemonious-Craig racked up 359 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns last season in a Colorado offense that was one of the worst passing offenses in college football. Lemonious-Craig was a star of the Colorado Spring scrimmage last weekend before he entered the transfer portal. In that game, he totaled 154 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Lemonious-Craig has two seasons of eligibility remaining and he has received competing offers from Auburn, Mississippi State, Cal, Penn State, Cincinnati, and Washington State among others since entering the transfer portal.
