Through five games, sophomore wide receiver Chase Roberts leads BYU in receiving with 358 yards. Earlier this year, Roberts reached out to former BYU great wide receiver Austin Collie to watch film and improve his game. Austin Collie joined BYU Sports Nation for an interview and he discussed his film review with Roberts.

"I get an opportunity to watch film with Chase Roberts," Collie said. "He took the initiative, he asked me, like, 'I want to know everything that you know, watch film with me every week.' I was able to train Chase, me and Dennis [Pitta] were able to train some of the white outs and in the tight ends during the off season."

Collie said that he has seen BYU's offense improve every week. "The great thing about the offense, we just keep getting better and better each week and from every skill position, everyone just keeps getting more comfortable with each other. You can tell. The dynamic between the wide receivers and the tight ends and the quarter back with Kedon, you can just tell they're starting to kind of get in that groove, find those pockets, read each other's body language, make the right throws. Kedon has made some very impressive throws, especially against Cincinnati."

In terms of what he has seen from TCU on film, Collie said, "[Their record] definitely does not indicate what type of talent is on this team. When watching film, you can see they are extremely aggressive, they love to play downhill, especially the guys in the box. Those linebackers are extremely fast, extremely athletic, extremely strong. They've got a phenomenal secondary again, a pair of safeties who are very physical, want to play downhill. I will say they love to take chances and hopefully, [Aaron Roderick's] got some magic in the playbook to take advantage of that with some of the defensive backs there."

Roberts has been one of the most important players on the team this season. When BYU has needed a big play, Roberts has made it. Whether it was the one-handed catch against Arkansas, the long touchdown against Cincinnati, or even the onside kick recovery against the Bearcats, Roberts has consistently made big plays at the most important times.

BYU will need more big plays from Roberts and his peers in the wide receiver room to pull off the upset at TCU on Saturday. The Cougars and the Horned Frogs kick off at 2:30 PM local time on ESPN.
