For the second consecutive week, BYU wide receiver Kody Epps did not play for BYU against Southern Utah. Epps, who has been dealing with a nagging injury from Fall camp, is expected to play next week against Arkansas. After the game, BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said he believes Epps will be ready to play against the Razorbacks.

Epps was one of BYU's top wide receivers in 2022. He finished with 459 receiving yards and he played particularly well against Arkansas. In that game, he finished with 9 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown. Epps' season was cut short after he suffered a season-ending injury at Liberty.

BYU hasn't been at full strength at wide receiver so far this season. After missing the season opener with an injury, BYU junior wide receiver Keanu Hill returned to the lineup against Southern Utah. Hill finished with 3 receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Epps' return will be a welcomed addition to a BYU offense that started to find a rhythm against Southern Utah. After failing to score on the first two drives of the game, BYU scored touchdowns on six of their next nine drives.

The Cougars and the Razorbacks square off next Saturday in a primetime matchup on ESPN. The game will kick off at 7:30 EST and 5:30 MST. Last year, Arkansas beat BYU 52-35 in a high-scoring game.
