The Cougars are on the hunt for their sixth win of the season to reach bowl eligibility. This game, at least according to FPI, is the most winnable game left on the schedule. If BYU wants to reach a bowl game this season, this will be the best chance to get there. Lavell Edwards Stadium is a difficult place to play at anytime during the day, but it's especially hard to beat BYU at home in a night game.
The broadcast plans for the other six Big 12 games that weekend have not been announced. The networks pushed those games to the six-day selection window, meaning the broadcast plans will be announced six days before the game.
The Last Time BYU Played Iowa State
It's been nearly 50 years since BYU played Iowa State in football. The last matchup came in 1974 when Iowa State beat BYU 34-7. The Cougars are 0-4 all time against the Cyclones. Iowa State is one of the few FBS teams that BYU has never beat.
Now that BYU and Iowa State are conference foes, they will play each other much more frequently.
