All Eyes Are On Wes Miller Against Houston

Can the Bearcats head coach lead the team to a signature win?

CHARLESTON  At some point, close isn't good enough. The time is now.

Time for the Cincinnati Bearcats to get over the hump and win a game against a quality opponent, especially at No.3 Houston's caliber. Now is the time to stop settling for shortfalls in big games.

The Bearcats have the talent. I don't think they're still a year away. When this team plays at its best, it can beat anybody. Not just in the American Athletic Conference but the entire country.

We've seen them go toe-to-toe with Arizona, Xavier, and Houston. Now is the time to take the next step and start winning these games.

They're not a year away from being good or being a tournament team. They're a year away from joining the Big 12, the best conference in college basketball. That means now is the time to start beating teams like Houston. Friendly reminder: Houston is also going to the Big 12 next year. They won't be going away.

You know what this game comes down to tomorrow? Wes Miller. Can he lead the Bearcats to a win against a high-quality opponent? You know, the third-ranked team in the country? Is he able to craft a clear and defined game plan in a game like this? Is he able to have his team ready from the jump and not just feel the game out for the first 10 minutes?

We're going to find out those answers tomorrow. It's been a long time since the Bearcats have won a game like this. It's been a long time since you, as a Bearcats fan, had confidence going into a game like this. The time to change that is now.

The Bearcats have earned their invite into the Big 12. Now they've got to get back to the Bearcats basketball program that we know.

The Bearcats, historically, have given their fans confidence walking into a game like this. It's time for fans to have that feeling again.

UC hired Miller to restore the program back to where it belongs. They've been close for almost two years. Now is the time to take the next step. All eyes are on Miller to make sure the Bearcats take that next step.
