TUNNEL HILL — Cincinnati football recently offered a rising prospect in Javion Butts. Butts is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound 2025 defensive back from Jones County High School in Gray, Georgia. He is not ranked on a major service.

Following his Cincinnati offer, he spoke with All Bearcats to recap the moment.

“Every offer equally means a lot to me because it shows how much work I've put in over the years,” Javion Butts stated. “I spoke with Coach Fuqua. He coaches the nickels, and it wasn’t a long conversation because he was busy, but he called me and said he had been wanting to offer me and looked forward to recruiting me.”

The talented defensive back doesn't have a visit planned.

“I probably won’t visit there," Butts said. "At this point, I've already narrowed down the main three schools, and I’m really focusing on them. If I were to play there, though, I feel like I could play in the whole backend, but definitely all three safety spots for sure.”

This is only the first step in the process of recruiting him to Cincinnati as the staff tries to catch up to other schools with a longer history in his recruitment. Butts is very gifted and could bring tons of talent and potential from the state of Georgia to Cincinnati.
