247Sports Names Emory Jones A Top-10 Dynamic Quarterback Athlete

Cincinnati added Jones in the transfer portal during the winter cycle.

CINCINNATI — UC quarterback Emory Jones has some solid dual-threat ability at the quarterback position, prompting 247Sports to include him in their "11 most dynamic athletes at quarterback entering 2023 season."

Jones struggled at Arizona State, but his time in Clifton could be a different story.

"Now at his third school entering his sixth collegiate season," Brad Crawford wrote. "Jones beat out Cincinnati's Ben Bryant for QB1 honors this spring and has 20 games of starting experience under his belt across his career at Florida (2018-2021) and Arizona State (2022). His rushing numbers last season were paltry behind a wretched offensive front, but Jones averaged 5.4 yards per carry with the Gators, including a 759-yard season in 2021. He's a threat to score when he breaks containment outside of the pocket and is a player to watch among Big 12 newcomers this fall."

Jones should get plenty of chances to flash his legs this season. Scott Satterfield usually leans on the run and that'll be especially true with a shaky group of wide receivers.

Cincinnati's offensive strengths in 2023 lie in its interior offensive line and at the running back spot. The addition of Kentucky offensive tackle Deondre Buford hammers that home even more.

He showed his best games at either tackle spot and did grade out 22nd among PFF's qualified SEC offensive linemen in run blocking (69 overall).
