UC Secures Transfer Commitment From Kentucky Offensive Tackle Deondre Buford
CINCINNATI — The Bearcats landed an offensive line transfer in Kentucky offensive tackle Deondre Buford.
He announced the news on his Instagram page.
Buford has three years of eligibility left after closing the 2020 cycle as a top-400 four-star recruit.
The 6-foot-3, 312-pound versatile blocker didn't play in the 2020 season. He saw time in two games in 2021 and then played in all 13 games as a redshirt sophomore.
Buford showed experience at right guard and both tackle spots for Kentucky this past season. He'll likely compete for one of the tackle spots with John Williams and Phillip Wilder.
He didn't fare well in his lone season as an SEC player, grading out with a 57 overall mark in 2022. That ranked 68th out of 97 SEC offensive lineman to play at least 190 snaps.
He showed his best games at either tackle spot and did grade out 22nd among those players in run blocking (69 overall).
