Pinging The Portal: UC Contacts Georgia Southern Defensive Back Anthony Wilson

Cincinnati has experimented with its backend rotation throughout the spring.

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati is showing interest in Georgia Southern transfer safety Anthony Wilson. 

247Sports's Chris Hummer reported the contact as UC football tries to add to its secondary in the portal.

Wilson entered the portal on April 11 and posted 102 tackles with an INT this past season. He has 20 pass breakups in three seasons at GSU.

His tackle mark was the third most by any secondary player in the country last season, and he's a multi-time All-Sun Belt player. Wilson has two years of eligibility remaining.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound talent could bring some serious pop to the Bearcats' back end. UC has cycled through successful experiments with Taj Ward, D.J. Taylor, and Bryon Threats at safety this spring, but wants to beef up that spot even more.
