Bearcats Offer Three-Star 2024 QB Danny O'Neill

The Indiana-native is projected play for Kentucky.

CINCINNATI — UC football offered another passer in the 2024 class. Three-star Cathedral (Indiana) quarterback Danny O'Neill is on the Bearcats' radar.

According to On3 Consensus, O'Neill is the 563rd-ranked player nationally and the 45th-rated QB. He holds nine offers, and On3 has Kentucky (39%) as the favorite to land him, while Cincinnati sits in fourth place (8.6%).

The 6-foot passer has a decent upside coming out of Cathedral. I didn't see any eye-popping attributes from him passing the ball, but he does have a quick throwing motion as a nice foundation. He gets the ball out fast with good timing and showed a few plays where his pocket magic came through to keep things alive.

He is a willing runner who can do damage on the ground. I'd like to see more anticipation throws and read progression from his highlights, but he may not have to do much of that yet at Cathedral.

We know that won't be the case at UC, but it's not unusual to lack those skills as a junior. A nice deep ball and that quick release can be the baseline of a Power Five quarterback.
