Three-Star 2025 Linebacker Josh Veldman Talks Offer From Cincinnati Bearcats

In this story:
TUNNEL HILL — Cincinnati football went and offered an upcoming 2025 prospect, Josh Veldman.
Veldman is a three-star linebacker prospect from Lincoln Way West High School in New Lenox, Illinois. According to 247Sports, Veldman is the 72nd-ranked linebacker nationally and the 29th-best player in Illinois.
He has been offered by many schools, including Cincinnati, Iowa State, and Toledo. He recapped his offer conversation and more with All Bearcats.
“The offer means a lot. Having coach Veidt move there and say incredible things about me to the staff, and they were obviously impressed, was amazing,” the Illinois prospect states. “I talked to coach Veidt. The conversation was amazing; just getting to talk to him was great. He had a lot of great things to say about Cincinnati. The staff’s pitch was obviously that they wanted me to come play as a Bearcat, but I would say they talked a lot about the city and all of the opportunities after football.”
Veldman described what made the Bearcats unique to him
“Cincinnati is unique because of the adversities they have worked through since being in the Big 12, and obviously, how it’s in the city, I think that’s pretty cool.”
He has also confirmed to All Bearcats that he plans to visit.
“I plan to visit sometime in the spring for a spring practice," Veldman said. “I feel like I could have a big contribution to the team with my athleticism and on-the-field knowledge.”
