The Bearcats received a hard commitment today from a quarterback who can battle with freshman Evan Prater for the starting job next season. Lipscomb Academy QB Luther Richesson visited on Homecoming weekend and confirmed his plans to play for Cincinnati today.

Richesson is a three-star recruit out of Nashville, Tennessee. He was a finalist at the Elite 11 camp and is having a stellar senior season. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound quarterback has completed nearly 83% of his passes for 2,444 yards and 34 touchdowns, while tossing just one interception. Leading his team to a 10-1 record so far in 2021. He is the first Elite 11 quarterback to sign with Cincinnati out of high school.

According to 247Sports, The Lipscomb Academy passer is the 60th-ranked quarterback in the country and 31st-ranked recruit in Tennessee. The signing pushes Cincinnati to the top spot in the Group of Five recruiting rankings. They are now ahead of UCF and sit at No. 35 in the 247Sports composite recruiting rankings.

The Bearcats added a strong 2023 piece yesterday and bolstered the upcoming 2022 class one day later.
