Clemson Women's Basketball Loses First Player to Transfer Portal

In this story:
The Clemson Tigers are coming off one of its best seasons in a quarter century, reaching the 20-win mark for just the third time since 2000 and earning an NCAA Tournament berth to match, all in just Shawn Poppie's second year as head coach.
Unfortunately, the Tigers suffered a first-round exit to USC, and as a result, they're already seeing players from this past season's roster hit the transfer portal.
Poppie's first player to do so is junior guard Hannah Kohn, as first reported by On3's Talia Goodman. She will have one more year of eligibility remaining at her next destination.

Kohn was one of the three players Poppie took with him from Chattanooga to upstate South Carolina last season, along with Addie Porter (now graduated) and Raven Thompson, who averaged 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Tigers this past season.
As a true freshman with the Mocs, she averaged 7.6 points per game while standing as one of the best sharpshooters in the country, boasting a 46.3% shooting clip from behind the arc on nearly five attempts.
In her first season with the Tigers, she saw an uptick in her production, putting up a career-high 9.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. Her three-point percentage took a hit (35.6), but only because of the higher volume: she shot 7.2 a night.
Following her career year, she saw a sizable drop in minutes per game, going from 26.7 in the 2024 season to 18.9 this past season. This was due to Poppie bringing in transfer guards Taylor Johnson-Matthews (DePaul), Rachael Rose (Wofford) and Rusne Augustinaite (Georgia Tech). All three were top-four in scoring for the Tigers this past season.
The arrivals of those transfers, along with incoming five-star recruit Trinity Jones and four-star Meeyah Green, likely played a major role in her decision to transfer elsewhere.
But, while Kohn's numbers were career lows of 4.7 points per game on 31/30/67 shooting splits, she still holds one of the most memorable moments from this past season.
In one of the final games of the year against No. 9 Duke, Kohn cashed in a go-ahead three-pointer with three seconds left to upset the Blue Devils, serving as a huge resume-builder as the Tigers earned their 10th conference win. The top of the key shot was her only point of the game.
