Clemson Football: Projecting who will lead the Tigers in receiving.

In this story:
Outside of recruiting news, new offensive coordinator Garrett Riley has been the biggest storyline for Clemson this offseason. Riley, 2022's Broyles Award winner, brings not only a new system to the Tigers but a sense of hope for fans who hope to see the Tigers return to the College Football Playoff and defend their ACC title.
One position that should see a huge uptick in production is the wide receiver group. In 2022, just one Tiger, Beaux Collings, averaged more than 13 yards per reception (min. 10 receptions). In contrast, in Riley's offense, four TCU receivers averaged more than 13 yards per catch last season. So who will be the guy for Clemson in 2023? For TCU last season it was Quentin Johnston, now a Los Angeles Charger. Johnston saw his yards jump from 634 the year prior to Riley's arrival all the way to 1,069 last season.
Clemson has some solid candidates. The Tigers return Antonio Williams who led Clemson in receptions (56) and receiving yards (604) last year. Adam Randall, another talented sophomore, is back as well after getting into the double digits in receptions. But it's another Tiger that should make the biggest jump in 2023.
Much like Johnston, junior wide receiver Beaux Collins is a big-bodied athlete. At 6-foot-3, the Los Angeles native can go up and get the ball on the perimeter. That kind of ability is paramount on the outside in Riley's offense.

Collins should also have an opportunity in the short game. While he'll see a lot of shots down the field, the system likes to keep opponents off balance with the outside receivers running drag, slant, and in routes, while throwing in bubble and tunnel screens as well.
