Injury Updates for Clemson heading into Georgia Tech

Head Coach Dabo Swinney gives updates on a host of Tigers and their injury progress.

We're in November and three-quarters of the way through the college football season; that means that every team in the country is banged up and has guys either playing hurt or working hard to come back soon as the final games approach.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney commented on the injuries his football team is currently dealing with as we head into Saturday's match against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Justin Mascoll

Clemson is hoping to get Justin Mascoll back for Georgia Tech

Will Shipley: "He was able to go in green yesterday. So he's trending back - so unless we have some type of setback or something - we do expect him to get back. His head and all that is good it's just more making sure his neck and everything is where it needs to be. He looked good last night. It's a big day today and tomorrow, both days we'll be in pads so we'll see how he responds to that."

Jalyn Phillips: "He's out."

Nate Wiggins: "Good chance we get him back."

Sheridan Jones: "He's out."

Ian Reed: "It's (his sickness) just something he dealt with kind of growing up with and then it just kind of came back and he just got sick. He's been battling for over a week and his mom's been up here. He did get to go home yesterday. So hopefully he's on the mend."

Justin Mascoll: "He's better, he's better. Hopefully, no setback today or tomorrow and we'll get him back. He's been out the last couple weeks but hopefully, he's ready to go I know he wants to play.

Antonio Williams: "No (on letting him practice). No he's just doing his rehab and all that. I mean he's still trending (motions upward) and we're projecting him to hopefully get back at some point before the end of the year."

Marcus Tate: "If we can get to a bowl game hopefully Marcus Tate's a guy that maybe could be back for that. We'll see how that works out."

Tyler Venables: "Venables is practicing. This week the plan for him is to do scout team all week. Because you know he hasn't really played football since the spring so he's going to take all the reps on the scout team and see how and see how he responds this week. That'd be a real shot in the arm too to have him available down the stretch and preserve his redshirt."
