Cody Williams has 'great' meeting with Philadelphia 76ers in Boulder

In this story:
The Philadelphia 76ers make a special trip to Boulder to see Deion Sanders, who brought along with some special guests to witness greatness. Cody Williams was a 'fly on the wall' around the NBA's Eastern Conference favorites led by NBA MVP Joel Embiid.
The Colorado Buffaloes basketball star was entertained by Coach Prime and the Sixers as they engaged in a fireside conversation at SALT on Tuesday evening. Nick Nurse's team is far from the city of 'Brotherly Love,' as they're currently training in Fort Collins to prepare for the upcoming season that kicks off in three weeks. A rare trip to the fringe of the Mile High City with the Denver Nuggets' stomping grounds at Ball Arena 30 miles away.
Colorado Basketball stars Tristan da Silva, K.J. Simpson & Cody Williams were in attendance for Coach Prime’s dinner with the 76ers.

I’m told Coach Prime personally invited them.
Per a source with the hoops team: “He went above and beyond for our guys. It was really cool.” pic.twitter.com/c631MWINqX
Williams, who's projected as a top-five pick in next year's NBA Draft, seemed to enjoy his time and was appreciative for being able to tag along with Sanders and crew. He was joined by a couple of Buffaloes teammates, including Tristan da Silva and K.J. Simpson. They were the three Buffs in The Almanac preseason Top 100 rankings.
Sanders spread his wisdom and gave his take on NBA player 'ducking' out of games with Embiid sitting directly in front of him.
"It's different when we came up," Sanders said. "Back in the day, MJ wanted that smoke. A lot of folks duck that smoke right now. They want to be Tarzan on paper. Don’t sell me a game, and tell me this is what I’m going to get it. Then when I turn on the TV I don’t get that. Give me that. If Embiid is playing the Joker, I want to see Embiid versus the Joker. I want to see it, alright. He goes and gets it, right? I love the matchup, but I want to see it. That’s why I stayed up.”
Williams' brother, Jalen, has taken the NBA by storm in Oklahoma City. Many scouts hope the Buffs standout has a higher ceiling going into next year's combine.
Colorado opens the 2023-24 men's basketball season vs. Townson on Nov. 6.
