Shelomi Sanders is enjoying the slight break to usher in her birthday. The Colorado Buffaloes guard turned 20-years-old on Thursday, leaving her parents with no teenage children. Sanders is coming back from a broken thumb, but saw her first action of the season for JR Payne's team in recent weeks.

For many of us, the first time we ever saw “Bossy” was on the reality show Deion and Pilar: Prime Time Love. At the time, the youngster was competing for screen time with her brothers. On television and social media, we watched as Shelomi has grown over the years.

There’s been so many wonderful memories that it’s tough to narrow them down. A particularly special one has to be her first collegiate basketball game at Jackson State. One of the funnier moments of the past year occurred right before Halloween. Bossy dressed up like Deion’s “It must be the money” caricature and performed a duet of his classic hit song.

It’s definitely been a special year for Shelomi. She has not only been in Boulder for all the excitement surrounding her family, but she's also living out her dreams on the court for the Lady Buffs. Coach Prime took time out of his busy schedule to recognize his youngest daughter on her special day.

“I pray that you enjoyed this beautiful day and continue to be the light that God called you to be,” said Sanders.

You can tell Coach Prime gets a little emotional around birthdays. He even temporarily updated his kids power rankings. “You’re ranked second behind Shilo Sanders by the way. [Wait] this just in, I changed my mind, Shelomi is #1…”

Sanders and the 8th-ranked Buffs are in the middle of a 16-day break. They'll resume action with Northern Colorado a week from now on Dec. 21 at the CU Event Center.
