Colorado's Deion Sanders plans to give back to his Florida hometown

In this story:
Deion Sanders' first year at Colorado is getting into full gear, but he still has Florida on his mind. The Buffaloes head coach is making a promise to give back to high school athletes near his hometown.
"It is my desire to take one player from Southwest Florida every year and give you a scholarship," Sanders said. "Who's next?"
Sanders was a tri-star athlete at North Fort Myers High School. He went on to be part of a rare group to play two professionally (NFL, MLB). When he played in Atlanta for the Falcons and Braves, Coach Prime was reportedly offered a spot on the Atlanta Hawks. In fact, he's likely one of the most pure athletes of his era.
Sanders hopes the initiative will provide an opportunity to a kid that wouldn't have one otherwise. He also hasn't been shy about his love for players from this home state. A majority of the new roster he formed via the transfer portal came from Florida. BuffsBeat Weekly host Jordan Domineck is one of those how came to Colorado from the Sunshine State.
Colorado hosts No. 8 USC as part of FOX's Big Noon Saturday Kickoff.
