Deion Sanders says he's turned on by being the underdog

When it comes to being doubted, the Colorado Buffaloes have felt it from every direction this season. It has become "bulletin board" motivation and seems to be popping up everywhere. However, Deion Sanders doesn't mind it and actually thrives on it.

Colorado heads into Friday's matchup with Stanford 4-2 on the season. Nobody predicted this start prior to the season, and it was easy for the national folks to pile on without any regard to talent. ESPN was one of those who doubted CU would find any success. The predicted a four-win season came with the probability of 0.2 percent. An odds-defying statement by Sanders and the Buffs looking for more in the second half of the season.

Coach Prime was asked on CU's weekly coaches show about being doubted and gave an honest response.

“Vegas did that too, right?” Sanders said. “I love when they bet against me. That kind of turns me on.”

The oddsmakers set Colorado's win total at 3.5 prior to the season. It was a pretty low bar to clear with half the schedule remaining and bowl aspirations on the horizon for the Buffaloes. They have a bye week after Stanford before facing UCLA at the Rose Bowl and Oregon State at home.

Colorado will likely be the underdog from here on out with more naysayers ready to prove Sanders wrong. Just don't let him get comfortable. That's when the Buffs will be dangerous.
