The Colorado Buffaloes are approaching the end of the spring practice period in Boulder. Deion Sanders and his staff have a good idea of how the roster is coming together early. With that said, the team enjoyed a minute to catch up with Mark Schlereth and Steve Mariucci. The duo were guest speakers this past week as first reported by Well Off Media.

Mariucci shared his thoughts on Colorado's upcoming season. The former NFL coach reminded Coach Prime's players they're going to be a hot story, but not to lose focus of the task at hand. Even if the naysayers are wanting them to fail.

"The whole world's watching you guys," Mariucci said. "I'm just telling you right now, people don't know what's going on here. It's happening so fast and some people are on your side and saying this is really exciting. And some people are just kind of rooting against you because it's not supposed to happen this fast."

All eyes will be on the Buffs again this year. Several upgrades at key positions put them towards the front of the pack in the new look Big 12 conference. However, Sanders' team has to keep the buzz alive past non-conference play to stay in the conversation. That was exactly Mariucci's message to the Buffs. Also, knowing whose there to support you could make a world of difference as the season hits the final stretch.

Sanders and the Buffs are preparing for the transfer portal to reopen this week. There could be a few additions before all is said and done. As it stands currently, Colorado has added 36 players to the 2024 combined class and most of those transferring from other programs. The Black and Gold Spring Game will be on April 27 at Folsom Field.
